After its formation, the Company immediately began to pursue a Joint Study Agreement (JSA) covering an area of 37,780 km2 in Indonesian Papua. This JSA was awarded on 8 August 2012. Following the completion of the JSA, which included a 19,000 km aerogravity and magnetic survey, the company was awarded the SE Papua PSC (8,716 km2) on 22 May 2015. G&G work since then has included further gravity and magnetic interpretation, field work, regional reconnaissance and community liaison, environmental baseline studies and preparation for Term 1 seismic operations.
The company has remained focused on the Papuan Basin western flank play in adjacent acreage. On 28th August 2015 applied for the East Papua JSA (formerly the Wildeman JSA operated by Total) which lies immediately to the north of the SE Papua PSC. This JSA, which covers an area of 8,827km2 was awarded on 25 May 2016 and was completed in March 2017. TEX is currently waiting for this acreage to be gazetted.
